Auburn may have emerged victorious in one of the more memorable college football games in recent history last weekend, but it was the Missouri Tigers who decidedly outplayed their opponent in a must-win game with SEC Championship aspirations on the line. This week, the two squads will do battle on the gridiron with a shot at the BCS National Championship still possible.
Despite a price decline of 23% since it was decided that Alabama would not be participating, SEC Championship tickets still carry an average of $357 dollars, making this game the most expensive of championship weekend. Although Auburn ranks 3rd in the BCS and Missouri 5th, a win in this game could easily vault either team into the National Championship Game. At worst, the winner will likely end up in the Sugar Bowl down at the Superdome in New Orleans.
For Auburn, it is wholly possible to qualify for the BCS National Championship even if #2 ranked Ohio State emerges victorious this weekend against Michigan State. Missouri on the other hand, would almost certainly need an Ohio State loss. Given the willingness to travel for Auburn fans and the novelty of a Missouri appearance in a major bowl, although get-in SEC Championship tickets check in at a lofty $161 dollars, fans of these two teams will certainly be willing to pay even more for Sugar Bowl tickets or BCS National Championship tickets.
