SEC commissioner Mike Slive will announce the SEC’s latest revenue generator in the form a TV network in middle of next month, according to Yahoo! Sports.
“Our focus for now is on our tournament and the NCAA tournament,” Slive said. “We will make a formal announcement about the SEC Network in mid-April.”
After the SEC launches its own network, it will join the ranks of the Big Ten and Pac-12 who already have their own networks dedicated to their conferences. Tens of millions of dollars of revenue is expected, and it will cash in even more than it already does, dominating the scene in college football.
ESPN will most likely become the SEC’s partner in the new network, much like Fox owns 51 percent of the Big Ten network.
The SEC Network has been projected by most to launch in 2014, and one program I will demand will be ‘Real Coaches of the SEC’.
