CBSSports and NFLDraftScout revealed its 2014 top NFL Draft prospects, and 10 SEC players were projected in the top 32 (considered first round picks).

Twenty-five SEC players filled the list of the top 100 prospects.

The SEC is coming off a record-setting NFL Draft. Here’s a look how the first-round picks were rated as recruits.

Jadeveon Clowney highlights the list as the top projected player, and right behind Clowney is Texas A&M’s future NFL franchise tackle Jake Matthews. Mississippi State’s Gabe Jackson is considered the closest offensive guard to former Alabama road grader Chance Warmack.

AJ McCarron snuck in the top 50 at No. 47, and Johnny Manziel follows McCarron at No. 57. The one surprise is Aaron Murray, who’s not even considered a top 100 prospect at No. 103.

  • I think Johnny Manziel will be a first rounder. He’s going to put up huge numbers again and he does very well in interviews. It’s a QB league and teams have strayed from the pure pocket passer mold in the Draft in recent years.

    • You’re forgetting one thing…those QBs that got drafted that high could thrive in the pocket if needed…and were also high character guys. RG3 and Wilson are born leaders that inspired those GMs to hand them the keys to the franchise…You honestly believe anybody trusts Johnny that much?

  • Don’t they know McCarron is 5th round talent?
On a less comical note, when did Manziel state he is going to enter the draft after his sophomore year?

  • Wasn’t this the same site that projected Matt Barkley and Tyler Wilson as 1st and second round picks? And where did they get drafted? Oh yeah…4th round…that’s right. But hey on the bright side there’s always a chance the bills will draft them in the 1st round. http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/probe.php?genpos=QB&draftyear=2013

  • Gabe Jackson is projected as the 15th overall pick yet didn’t crack the top 25 players in your SEC list? Why the snub?

    • Obviously some find more value in projecting him as a first-round pick. He isn’t Chance Warmack…yet. But he’s a hell of a lineman. Four tackles and one center were in the top 25, and it’s likely Jackson breaks into the post-season top 25. We’ll see…I just projected four other O-linemen to have bigger and better seasons.

    • Because of who he plays for. Media outside of Mississippi don’t really put much stock into Mississippi State players.
