Five SEC QB commits make final Elite 11

The Elite 11 finalists have been named, and five SEC quarterback commits made the final cut.

Eight big-time quarterbacks are committed to SEC programs right now, but these are arguably the best five.

Boy, is the future bright.

Here are the Elite 11 members, with SEC commits in bold:

Sean White, Uncommitted
Kyle Allen, Texas A&M
Drew Barker, Kentucky
David Blough, Purdue
KJ Carta-Samuels, Vanderbilt
Will Grier, Florida
Jerrod Heard, Texas
Brad Kaaya, Miami
Jacob Park, Georgia
Luke Rubenzer, Cal
Deshaun Watson, Clemson

The Elite 11 started with 18 quarterbacks this past week, and 11 made the final cut. The ACC is the only other conference to have more than one commit a finalist. Do you think the SEC is slowing down anytime soon?

Furthermore, only one SEC quarterback commit in the top 18 didn’t make it in the final cut in Alabama commit David Cornwell. Cornwell is a five-star caliber signal caller who didn’t have a good week.

Trent Dilfer had the following to say about two SEC commits, via ESPN:

Kyle Allen: “Everything he does is better than good. He’s ‘Mr. Consistency.’ ”

Will Grier: “Immensely talented and he gets stuff.”
