We fear the day after National Signing Day every year. Why? Once the season ends, signing day carries us right into February. But after February, we’re stuck waiting on spring football in April.
Anyway, the smoke finally cleared away from Alex Collins’ signing situation. Yes, we thought Landon Collins’ mother was a punk; Alex Collins’ mom stole the show, his LOI and hired a lawyer over the situation. Collins, however, signed about an hour ago with Arkansas, but I have a feeling we haven’t heard the last of Mama.

Thanks for all the recruits Georgia!
You got that right
247′s Composite Rankings are very misleading, many think they equally weight all the major sites and the don’t. They involve a “proprietary algorithm” that appears to be heavily slanted to their rankings. If you actually average the 4 recruiting sites, here is how the SEC rankings would look:
1. Alabama – 3,1,1,1,1.5
2. Florida- 8,4,2,4,4.5
3. Mississippi – 10, 7, 5,2,6.0
4. LSU -6,6,7,6,6.3
5. Texas A&M – 6,10,8,7,7.8
6. Auburn – 13,8,11,10,10.5
7. Georgia – 9,12,10,12,10.8
8. South Carolina- 21,16,17,20,18.5
9. Mississippi State – 20, 25,25,22,23.0
10. Vanderbilt – 19,19,22,35,23.8
11. Tennessee- 32,20,29,27,27.0
12. Arkansas -34,26,31,23,28.5
13. Kentucky – 40,28,36,39 35.8
14. Missouri – 37,39,38,33,36.8
Key to numbers is – Scouts,Rivals,ESPN,247,Average.
Having read the column on ‘where are the 5 star players now’ I pay less attention to signing day rankings. As far as who’s number one and who’s number 10 etc. Obviously there’s drop off after about number 15. However, knowing that last years first 35 NFL draftee’s only had like 2 five star players in it. Only proves to me the signing day rankings are an ‘in-exact’ science at best. However, Mizzou coming in at 39 nationally could be problematic. In order to compete in the SEC you should probably fall into the top 20 or at least 25.
“ROLL TIDE” But, I’ll say again the number of stars mean nothing unless they are Coached to win once they get there. Mark Ingram was a 3 and 4 star and won the Heisman and a National Championship
This is true…Johnny football was a 3 star and ran all over the sec! Wouldn’t have done that in the big 12 style football games!
priest willis was nuts for not coming to LSU,here in the SEC is where you get your advanced degree in college ball and here at LSU is where you get your doctorate in the defensive back field !
