For the second time in consecutive years, South Carolina will open the college football season with a Thursday night kickoff. Only this year, it happens to be against border state ACC member North Carolina.
The game will be played in Columbia on August 29th, and the exact time will be announced at a later date.
Last year, South Carolina eked out a 17-13 win on the road at Vanderbilt.
Steve Spurrier is 8-2 on Thursday night games, including four straight wins.
South Carolina is looking to put a dent in the 34-17-4 head-to-head lead the Tar Heels currently own.
This game only kicks off an SEC out-of-conference extravaganza for week one.
