Steve Spurrier is never afraid to be a little outside the box with the media that covers his South Carolina Gamecocks football program. In a somewhat random interview with media today, he asked the media representatives if they could name all the football teams that have won 11 games each of the past two seasons.
The answer of course is Alabama, South Carolina, Oregon & Stanford.
Two reporters got the question right and Spurrier had some handle envelopes in his coat pocket to hand to the winners. After Spurrier walked away, the reporters looked inside and found a $100 bill.
Who doesn’t love the Ol’ Ball Coach?
(h/t CFT)

Gotta love the Ol’ Head Ball Coach.
Name the teams that won 11 games the last two seasons and didn’t go to the SEC Championship game either year……South Carolina.
Name one of the SEC East teams that hasn’t beaten South Carolina since 2009…. Georgia.
Name one team that hangs banners for 10 win seasons…. South Carolina. The land of celebrating mediocrity.
UGA/USCe series record
UGA 46 – USCe 17 – 2 ties
Longest series win streak: UGA 10
SC has only been to 18 bowl games in their history, and barely have a .500 win percentage all time. They have one conference title and have only won 6 total bowl games. If that is not mediocrity then I don’t know what is.
