South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier, along with every coach in the country, does a weekly coach’s show that’s aired on Fox Sports South and also watched on the official Gamecocks’ athletic page.
However, South Carolina has pulled the most recent post-UCF show from the website, and Fox Sports South will not rerun the show this week, according to GoGamecocks.com, because Spurrier thought it was too negative.
“Liz and Coach Tanner, we decided we didn’t have to show it after the first time,” Spurrier said. “I said, ‘I’m not very happy with all I said on the thing and so forth. Let’s get it off the air.’ They said, ‘We don’t have to show it anymore so I said let’s don’t show it because I have to be more positive.’”
But thanks to the wonderful creation of YouTube, you can watch Spurrier’s awkward body language and detect some slurred speech in two short segments.
Two viewers took to Twitter about the original airing of the show:
Watching the Steve Spurrier Show on SportSouth. I swear Coach sounds drunk. At least that’s how drunks I hang around with talk. #Gamecocks

My wife- “Why are they talking to that drunk guy?” Me- “That’s Steve Spurrier.” Her- “Well he sounds like he’s drunk.” Me- “Isn’t it great?”

Spurrier’s two short segments are at the 12:00-minute and 16:40-minute marks.
