South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier, along with every coach in the country, does a weekly coach’s show that’s aired on Fox Sports South and also watched on the official Gamecocks’ athletic page.

However, South Carolina has pulled the most recent post-UCF show from the website, and Fox Sports South will not rerun the show this week, according to GoGamecocks.com, because Spurrier thought it was too negative.

“Liz and Coach Tanner, we decided we didn’t have to show it after the first time,” Spurrier said. “I said, ‘I’m not very happy with all I said on the thing and so forth. Let’s get it off the air.’ They said, ‘We don’t have to show it anymore so I said let’s don’t show it because I have to be more positive.’”

But thanks to the wonderful creation of YouTube, you can watch Spurrier’s awkward body language and detect some slurred speech in two short segments.

Two viewers took to Twitter about the original airing of the show:

Spurrier’s two short segments are at the 12:00-minute and 16:40-minute marks.

  • Definitely too much to drink. THere’s no other explanation.

  • At least for his sake and from a fellow Tennessean, I hope it was whisky.

  • obviously, you have not listened to Spurrier much . That’s just the way he talks.

    • Wait…you’re kidding right? I heard that voice for TOO many years, and there’s no way that’s the way he talks. Clearly slurring his speech. You have to be kidding.

      • TOO MANY YEARS?? You act as if you’re upset he garnered an SEC & NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP?? And what he has achieved with Carolina’s program is nothing short of spectacular! He is on a short week and has committed his attn to the secondary this week . I’m not a huge holy roller E.G. I take a nip here & there . However I have no idea if the HBC did? I know with a hip replacement and mid season fatigue ,in all honesty he looked tired . Nothing a full nights rest can’t fix . Remember Spurrier put UF on the map!

  • maybe he had a stoke after the first half?

  • gotta love The Head Ball Coach

  • SEC! SEC! SEC! SEC! LOL

  • I feel fine with Thompson in @ QB. Especially on the road ,he rolled into Clem’s son’s dead valley last year with not a lot of starting reps in practice (a week) and we kicked it on both sides of the line! Thompson played a VERY smart game plus in the 4th qtr Clowney took over with 4&1/2 sacks on “The Tajh-mu- hall” ,the last he just bailed to the sidelines and was caught from behind by the 6’7″ (4.4 in the 40) sophomore.
But I believe the tone was set by Thompson’s leadership presence, felt throughout the sideline. The Cocks are fortunate to have to of the best yet under the radar QB’s in the NCAA!! I prefer them under the radar. Except opposing coaches know better! We have Nosovitch (hand picked by the HBC ) . GO SEC!

  • YEA BABEEEEY…. ! Way to go coach. Proud to say you’re one of us now, but I didn’t notice it because I was drunk when I watched it. Sounded perfectly normal to me.

  • How many coaches get a total pass on being drunk on something like this? I’d say one and it’s Spurrier. Hell, even Saban would probably apologize for this, but Spurrier… we’ll act like it never happened, because frankly, we just like Spurrier. Not that I have a problem with it… it’s hilarious.

  • Spurrier had had a long day, plus he really doesn’t give a damn, and that’s why I love him.

  • LOL. He’s on the sauce for sure.

  • I started watching the game and realized I immediatley needed to intoxicate myself. I can only imagine how Steve felt watching that pile of **** that game was. He needed to get home and crush a few.

  • Nice try on him being to negative…lol. He’s three sheet’s to the wind. The look on the hosts face when Spurrier talks is classic. He didn’t even have to speak his mannerisms give away the fact he’s hammered.

  • I WOULD BE DRUNK TO IF I COACHED A TEAM THAT PLAYED LIKE THAT IN THE FIRST HALF. SOMEONE PLEASE TELL THE HBC TO PUT #7 AT FULLBACK SO DAVIS CAN HAVE 6 TOUCHDOWNS EVERY GAME.DEFENCE COACH WHEN THEY DOUBLE TEAM #7 HAVE A LINBACKER BLITZ IN BEHIND HIM. DAMB DUMMY.
