SEC Football News on Saturday Down South

Top uncommitted prospects could all land in the SEC

NEW: Follow on facebook -

We’re just 16 days until National Signing Day on February 6th. While some big-time prospects have already declared for certain schools, others have not and will not until NSD.

Here are the top uncommitted prospects in 247Sports’ composite player ranking who could all land in the SEC, as well as predictions as of today:

#1 Robert Nkemdiche, DE

  • Nkemdiche will land in the SEC at Ole Miss, Florida or LSU.
  • Ole Miss is the likely destination because his brother plays there, but could he decide to pull a National Signing Day shocker and not sign with the Rebels?
  • Prediction: Ole Miss

#3 Laremy Tunsil, OL

  • Tunsil is said to be down to Ole Miss, Alabama, FSU and Georgia.
  • Georgia has been the favorite for quite some time.
  • Prediction: Georgia

#6 Reuben Foster, LB

  • Foster committed to Alabama early, only to spurn them for in-state rival Auburn.
  • However, after Gene Chizik and his staff were fired, Foster decommitted.
  • Prediction: Auburn

#7 Matthew Thomas, OLB

  • Matthew Thomas has two in mind in the SEC in Alabama and Georgia, but ACC foes FSU and Miami are more likely.
  • Prediction: Miami

#8 Montravius Adams, DT

  • Adams has been linked to Georgia, Clemson, Auburn and Florida throughout the process.
  • He’s a Georgia native, but he could end up in the ACC.
  • Prediction: Clemson

#24 Tony Connor, S

  • The Mississippi native has been an Ole Miss lean for a while now, with Alabama on the outside looking in.
  • Prediction: Ole Miss

#39 Alex Collins, RB

  • Collins doesn’t speak much about the process, but there are three likely destinations in Miami, Florida and Arkansas.
  • He loved the Wisconsin running game, and he could look the Hogs’ way with Bret Bielema taking over the head coaching job there.
  • Miami is rumored to get their sanctions soon, and that could impact his decision.
  • Florida already has two running backs in their class, but he’s not afraid to compete for playing time.
  • Prediction: Arkansas

#40 Dee Liner, DT

  • The former Auburn commit decommitted last week, and Alabama has jumped up as the favorite.
  • Prediction: Alabama

#42 Von Bell, S

  • The Georgia native will land in the SEC at either Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas or Auburn. Ohio State is the out-of-region player here, though.
  • Prediction: Alabama

#45 Priest Willis, S

  • The Arizona native is looking at LSU really hard, and it’s LSU or bust to see Willis in the SEC.
  • He did take an official visit to LSU.
  • Prediction: Not LSU

#65 Alvin Kamara, RB

  • Two have stood out for Kamara for quite some time in Georgia and Alabama.
  • I hope Kamara doesn’t have a problem competing for playing time, because both rosters are stacked at the position.
  • Prediction: Georgia

Not if he wants to win Championships…

  2. Actually, Georgia is not stacked at running back at all now that Malcome transferred and Richard Samuel graduated. Once we get Turman on campus, we’ll have three scholarship backs to Bama’s SEVEN. That’s a huge difference.

    • While seven is different than two, immediate playing time behind Gurley and Marshall is close to none as a freshman. Kamara will have to wait at either school. But there are those things called injuries that can offset a depth chart in a hurry….
