Aiden Sherrell told On3 Sports’ Joe Tipton the recruit’s commitment date recently. The news broke on social media on Saturday.

Sherrell is a 4-star center from the 2024 class. He will be deciding between Alabama, Ohio State, Texas, Oklahoma, and Michigan State on Aug. 13.

Sherrell comes in at 6-foot-11, 215 pounds and hails from Napa, California. Sherrell is the No. 6 center and No. 5 prospect out of California, per the 247Sports Composite.

If Sherrell commits to Alabama, he would be the first recruit from the 2024 cycle to do so. Sherrell would be a fine first commit for Nate Oats’ 2024 class.

Texas and Oklahoma don’t have a commit from the 2024 class yet either.

Plenty of SEC talent has shown interest in Sherrel thus far. Auburn, Georgia, LSU, and Texas A&M have also offered the prospect.

Sherrell has visited with the majority of his top schools. The Crimson Tide showed him around Tuscaloosa on Sept. 23. He visited the Sooners on May. 4.

Either way it looks like Sherrell will be leaving the state of California. Which school can secure the commitment of the top prospect?
