  • Boise State shouldn’t be on this list!

    • Boise State has gone to a bowl game 11 straight season, and 13 of the past 14 season, winning 9 of them. This of course includes the 2006 Fiesta Bowl victory against Oklahoma., and 2009 Fiesta Bowl victory against TCU. They also have 5 straight season of 11 or more wins, and in 2009 completed the perfect season going 14-0. Since 2000, they have 9 seasons of winning 10 or more games.

Chris Patterson has a record of 84-8 since he took the helm from Dan Hawkins in 2006, who had a record of 53-11, who took the helm from Dirk Koetter in 2001 who had a record of 26-10 while head coach of the school from 1998-2000; making their overall record in that time an astounding 163-29. 15 years, over 150+ wins. Not to mention that Boise State has had at least a share of their conference’s championship in 11 of the past 15 seasons (Big West, Western Athletic, and Mountain West).

I think Boise State could easily argue that they should be higher than what they are now.

      • Jec knows. They beat a really good Dawg team 2 years ago. They beat the teams in front of them year after year. Damn impressive for a team out of Idaho (pretty tough to recruit there I’d assume).

    • Hi, welcome to college football. You must be new here.

  • USC shouldn’t be on that list. BSU is a team that has at least exceeded expectations for some time, USC shouldn’t be anywhere near that list with how much talent they get and how bad they were for the past few years.

    • Just wait till the AP comes out and they’ll be ranked in the top 15…because If there is one certainty at all about preseason polls It’s that USC and Notre Dame will be in them.

  • I can see people are really trying to push the Big 10 and PAC this year. I’ll predict now that both conferences will lose a team from the top 25 at the end of the season, while the SEC gains one.

  • USC definitely doesn’t need to be in there. They will go 7-5 at best and don’t even play the Ducks this year. Kiffen should be gone at seasons end, which will make listening to Colin Cowherd more enjoyable. Hopefully Butch Jones can hit the ground running and eventually get the Vols on this list by seasons end… I can only hope..

  • I thought Vanderbilt and Ole Miss might squeak in. I guess one will make the leap after Week 1.

  • Oregon and Stanford in the top five? I guess they have to do that for some reason?

    • Why shouldn’t Oregon be in the top 5? They were one game away from playing in the Championship. And that game happened to be (imo) one of the best games of last football season.

  • I understand Vanderbilt, Ole Miss and Tennessee all got votes. so surely one of them breaking the top 25 after week one. but Tennessee? Puhlease! No freaking way they finish ahead of Missouri this year and I certainly shouldn’t be getting any votes they haven’t done anything but have 5 losing seasons out of the last 8. but I do believe they have the right coach now.
