Bielema, Razorbacks have two more holes to fill on staff

The coaching carousel isn’t over for Arkansas. Bret Bielema has to replace defensive assistant Taver Johnson, who accepted a job at Purdue, and on-campus recruiting coordinator Chris Hauser, who was let go earlier this week, according to several reports.

Bielema retained Johnson from the previous staff, and he was the Hogs’ cornerbacks coach last season.

Hauser came to Arkansas from Wisconsin with Bielema following the 2012 season. Arkansas’ recruiting class was ranked 30th in the country, according to 247sports.

Johnson and Hauser make Arkansas’ third and fourth departures from the staff this offseason. Robb Smith replaced former defensive coordinator Chris Ash after he left for Ohio State, and Rory Segrest replaced Charlie Partridge after he left for the head coaching job at FAU.

  1. He’s too busy crying about not being able to stop an offense to be able to focus on hiring his assistants.
