Auburn rising sophomore Carl Lawson had left knee surgery Friday, according to 247Sports.
Lawson is expected to become a central piece to Auburn’s defensive puzzle and become Dee Ford’s primary replacement in 2014. Lawson injured his knee in April during spring practice, and the injury was originally thought not to be significant.
Auburn hasn’t confirmed the surgery and Gus Malzahn hasn’t addressed it. Lawson, along with Montravious Adams and Elijah Daniel, are rising stars along Auburn’s defensive line.
