Offseason casualties are the worst.
Ole Miss defensive back Chief Brown is likely out for the season following a torn Achilles suffered during an offseason workout, according to the Clarion Ledger. The rising junior started three games last season and finished with 38 tackles and one INT. Brown had a standout spring and was named the team’s most improved defensive player, and he was gearing up for a big season.
Brown backed up Tony Connor as the ‘Husky’ nickel corner in the Rebels’ 4-2-5 defense. Thankfully, the Rebels’ secondary is deep, and talented incoming players will get a crack at Brown’s spot.
