ESPN’s Chris Fowler will be tired on Sundays.
Fowler will replace Brent Musburger on ABC’s Saturday Night Football with Kirk Herbstreit, but the kicker is that Fowler will remain on the stalwart show College GameDay. It was announced yesterday that Musburger would join Jesse Palmer as the lead commentators on the SEC Network.

ESPN extended Fowler’s contract through 2023, and in addition to his college football duties, he will still be the voice of tennis majors. Fowler will also call one College Football Playoff semifinal, and he will call the College Football National Championship game, alongside Herbstreit.
“I am very excited about hosting GameDay for a 25th year and extending my work with Kirk Herbstreit for a 19th season and beyond,” said Fowler in a release. “There is a strong legacy of top college football voices on ABC, from Chris Schenkel to Keith Jackson to Brent Musburger. I’m looking forward to returning to the booth and being a part of that incredible tradition. As for tennis, I can’t wait to continue and expand my role in ESPN’s industry-leading coverage.”
