Dorial Green-Beckham could sit out 2014 season, enter 2015 NFL Draft

NCAA Football: Florida at Missouri

Where will Dorial Green-Beckham play football next?

That’s a question only the Green-Beckhams may know the answer to.

Green-Beckham was rumored to transfer to the FCS’ Eastern Illinois, but he could take a similar path as Tyrann Mathieu and sit out the season before entering 2015 NFL Draft, according to CBS Sports. It was reported earlier this month that Missouri hadn’t released DGB from his scholarship, although nothing indicates Mizzou or anyone was intentionally holding up the process.

Eastern Illinois hasn’t had any contact with Green-Beckham, and they believe he’s leaning toward sitting out the season.

Following a chain of events, DGB was dismissed from Mizzou in early April.

  • This could be a very smart move for him. He needs to seek ‘help’ and prove to GMs that he isn’t going to be a risk. This would also give him extra time working on fundamentals and getting stronger.

I hope this young man can get things figured out for his own wellness and future.

  • He is not ready for the NFL. It is a technique issue. Yes, he had multiple behavior problems but all of them fall into the category of too little discipline too late. This was a knee jerk reaction to the ESPN hatchet job about SMC. No matter how tragic something is, it is only made worse when those involved don’t stand up for exactly the appropriate reaction. Even immature repeatedly hanging with party hound late nighters, are entitled to a day in court or to be given the same benefit of the doubt that prosecutors gave him. Yes the Missouri team will benefit but at the expense of skipping a level of punishment short of dismissal probably deserved by DGB. I’m not writing this because I think Missouri needs DGB to win the big prize, anyone who knows collegiate receivers has wide eyes about Missouri’s very deep corp for 2014. On DGB’s best day he could not catch like Gavin Otte, not even a starter….yet

I must have read about SEC WR for almost an hour and didn’t see any WR listed above?
