Alabama defensive assistant reportedly leaving for another job

Alabama’s defensive backs coach Greg Brown is heading to Louisville, according to CoachingSearch.com Brown will coach the safeties for the Cardinals.

Brown is the third assistant coach to have left Alabama during this offseason. Nick Saban hired Lane Kiffin to replace Doug Nussmeier, who left for Michigan, and he hired Bo Davis as the defensive line coach after Chris Rumph left for Texas. Director of player personnel Kevin Steele will also have an on-field coaching position in 2014.

  1. This is not any real news. Saban had already announced that Brown was being reassigned to a off field position and Smart was taking over Secondary duties along with him.
