The hype continues to grow for FSU transfer Jacob Coker.
Coker steps into an ideal situation at Alabama, and his former coach is adding to his already enormous hype. Jimbo Fisher said that Coker will be Nick Saban’s most talented quarterback he’s coached at Alabama.
You read that right. Here’s the direct quote to TideSports.com.
“Including what they’ve had, he’s much more talented than anything they’ve had,” Fisher said. “I don’t mean to discredit the previous guys, they were all great. But this guy is extremely talented. Arm and mind.”
That includes two-time national champion AJ McCarron, who one could argue is Alabama’s best quarterback in the storied program, as well as Greg McElroy and John Parker Wilson.
Fisher went on to tell TideSports how good Coker can really become.
“He [Coker] can beat you with his feet, he can beat you with his arm, he can beat you a lot of ways,” said Fisher. “He’s the real McCoy, now. He’s an NFL player, I think a high pick – he has a chance to be, without a doubt.”
Coker is inheriting the keys to Nick Saban and Lane Kiffin’s Ferrari, led by a stacked backfield and one of the SEC’s top receiving corps. The means to win is in place now, and it’s a quarterback’s dream.
You’ve all heard the tale. It took Heisman winner Jameis Winston all fall camp to finally be named the starter over Coker.
