Florida wins the Jake McGee sweepstakes.
The former UVA tight end is officially a Florida Gator. McGee led the Cavaliers in receptions last season with 43 for 395 yards and two touchdowns, pushing his career totals to 71 catches for 769 yards and seven touchdowns. His 2013 numbers may not be perceived as great, but the Cavs only had nine passing touchdowns all year.
McGee is eligible to play immediately. The Gators received virtually no production from the position last year, and he instantly becomes the Gators’ top weapon at tight end.
McGee is a nice piece to the Gators’ new-look offense. He was a Mackey Award watch lister in 2013.
