Tight end/linebacker Kelvin Rainey isn’t currently with the South Carolina program and will transfer.
According to his guardian, Rainey will transfer to JUCO and play linebacker.
“He’s a big 6-foot-4 and 238 pounds, still runs great and hopefully in the right situation has many years of great football ahead of him,” Camp told the Post. “South Carolina is a great school and Kelvin was lucky to have two good years there learning from a legend.”
Rainey came to South Carolina as a tight end, but he was moved to linebacker during spring practice of 2013, only to be moved back to tight end and special teams last season. Rainey did not record any stats despite playing in eight games.
The Yulee, Florida native was once a pretty highly coveted prospect exiting high school, and he was listed as the team’s fourth tight end this spring.
