New coach set to join Georgia’s defensive staff

Georgia has hired South Alabama defensive coordinator Kevin Sherrer to join the Bulldogs’ defensive staff with an unspecified title right now, according to multiple reports.

Sherrer has ties with new DC Jeremy Pruitt from both Hoover High School and at Alabama, where Sherrer was the director of player development from 2010-12 and a graduate assistant from 1998-2000.

The comfort level between Sherrer and Pruitt had to make him a viable candidate.
