LSU’s top WR signee Malachi Dupre offers a little trash talk to Alabama’s top freshmen CBs

High School Football: The Opening

Alabama and LSU: two of the country’s top NFL factories have been the focus of college football for the last several years.

The nation’s No. 2 overall receiver and future LSU star Malachi Dupre had a few words for Alabama top corner signees Tony Brown (No. 2 overall cornerback and early ernollee) and Marlon Humphrey (No. 3 overall cornerback), saying neither can ‘shut him down’.

“I just have to say, Tony knows he can’t shut me down,” Dupre told’s Julie Boudwin. “Marlon knows he can’t shut me down, either.”

Dupre is friends with both Brown and Humphrey, and all three will likely be the faces of one of the SEC’s biggest ongoing rivalries between the Tigers and Tide.

All three are stepping into beautiful situations. Alabama’s secondary needs major help, especially at cornerback, and Brown and Humphrey will be counted on to make impacts. The NFL Draft also wiped out LSU’s receiving duo of Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry, and Les Miles has already insinuated freshmen will be key in 2014, especially Dupre.

Although Dupre would play along with Brown and Humphrey, he offered no such talk of LSU shutting Alabama down.

“I don’t want to say completely shut them down,” Dupre said. “It’s Alabama; I don’t think anybody’s going to shut them down, but I think we can limit them.”

Another talented wave of freshmen will hit campus in a few weeks in time for summer school. Dupre and Humphrey are three of the best, along with Brown who enrolled early.
