Ole Miss hiring firm for football stadium expansion


Ole Miss has hired a design firm for $2.4 million to design the Vaught-Hemingway Stadium expansion. The College Board approved the hire of AECOM Technology Corporation for the plans.

The project goal will be to enclose the north end zone and add suites and skyboxes to the south and west sides. The Rebels plan to add at least 30 suites, and the project will be paid through donations of Ole Miss’ Forward Together athletics fundraising campaign.

Ole Miss has a goal of raising $35.5 million for the expansion, according to the Clarion Ledger.

  • The original stadium expansion design was so much better. Kinda disappointed that they changed it.

  • From what I have heard, after the expansion, the stadium should hold between 70K and 71K. It still wouldn’t be one of the biggest in the SEC, but it would be one of the bigger stadiums in the country. But with the stadium enclosed, it should make it a lot louder inside the stadium.
