Alabama redshirt freshman quarterback Parker McLeod will transfer, according to 247Sports.
The 6-3, 193-pound Georgia native was the country’s No. 37 pro-style quarterback exiting high school. He enrolled early at Alabama in January of 2013 and redshirted last season.
With McLeod’s transfer, five Alabama scholarship quarterbacks remain. Blake Sims (SR), Jacob Coker (JR), Alec Morris (SO), Cooper Bateman (FR) and David Cornwell (FR) will continue to battle throughout fall camp for the starting job. FSU transfer Coker is expected to win the job, as Sims should once again be the primary backup.
McLeod chose Alabama over Maryland, UCF, Boston College, Oklahoma State and Louisville, among others.
