11 SEC teams will go bowling, according to Phil Steele

NCAA Football: BCS National Championship-Florida State vs Auburn

College football analyst Phil Steele says 11 SEC teams will reach the postseason in 2014.

Steele has Alabama playing in the College Football Playoff championship game against Florida State and losing. Auburn and Georgia are projected to play in marquee New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day games this year.

  • I’ll take a capital one bowl

  • I think this is a safe bet, with Bama making the Playoffs. I also don’t think Kentucky will make it.

  • Ohio State will be one of the top 20 but not one of the top 4.
Alabama will be one of the top 6 but not one of the top 4.
Oklahoma will be one of the top 18 but not one of the top 4.
Auburn drops to the level of Marshall? this doesn’t deserve a response
Ole Miss will finish in the top 30 but not in the top 10.
Wisconsin might lose 3-4 conference games next year.
Thanks for mentioning Tennessee but where do you come up with Memphis as good match?
South Carolina will finish as a top 6 but Iowa will only be a top 30
Missouri will be a bowl match up with Air Force? A sportswriter’s desperate signal for help !
Texas aTm and Texas Tech? Phil and the Tech co-eds are equally taken with Tech’s coach

  • Ole Miss REBELS! Capital One Bowl … I would agree. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t take the SEC this year! Talent RICH and keepin’ our eyes on the one’s the teams without ‘integrity’ That should make the games competitive … right Alabama and Auburn?

    • Thanks 8LH, about two weeks ago I wrote a blog saying the 5 teams from the SEC West could win it all and five teams from the East could win it all. O-Miss was one of those. All the best wishes to your men down there, in every game (xcept vs. Mizzou.) I would say Hotty Toddy if someone would explain to me what I’m saying. So until then I’ll just yell MIZ and you can yell back PPI.

    • “Take the SEC”, just like they have done so many times before, right?

  • Agree with most of this except Marshall to the Orange bowl? Their offense is one of the best in the country but that defense would get killed by Auburn
