ESPN announces schedule for three SEC opening-week neutral site games

NCAA Football: Chick-fil-A Kickoff-Alabama vs Virginia Tech

College football is just around the corner.

But first we have to get through the next few months without any football, as spring practice is ending in a little over a week for every SEC team.

ESPN released the TV schedule for five neutral site games on college football’s opening weekend. Three of them involve SEC teams. Here’s the schedule as follows:

SEC Games

Game: Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game (Atlanta)
Date: August 28th
Teams: Ole Miss vs. Boise State
Time: 8:00 PM ET
Channel: ESPN

Game: Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game (Atlanta)
Date: August 30th
Teams: Alabama vs. West Virginia
Time: 3:30 PM ET
Channel: ABC

Game: Advocare Texas Kickoff (Houston)
Date: August 30th
Teams: LSU vs. Wisconsin
Time: 9:00 PM ET
Channel: ESPN

Game: Croke Park Classis (Ireland)
Date: August 30th
Teams: Penn State vs. UCF
Time: 8:30 AM ET
Channel: ESPN2

Game: Cowboys Classic (Arlington)

Time: 8:00 PM ET
Channel: ESPN

  • Looks like a pretty good slate of games for the opening week. As an Ole Miss fan, I am really excited to see how well Ole Miss does against Boise St. I think the game well be close the first half and in the second half Ole Miss runs them out of the building. But I might be a little bias.

    Bama vs West Virginia should be a nothing more than a scrimmage for Bama. I would be surprised if Bama didn’t blow them out big. LSU/Wisconsin game might be the most interesting game because both teams are rebuilding, but obviously LSU has way more talent. But they will be young on the DL and WR. Plus LSU will be starting a new QB. So I honestly have know idea how this game is going to go. But I would bet on LSU’s talent to win the day.
