Thursday’s NFL Draft will disperse more former SEC players into football’s highest league. Several former SEC stars will see their dreams come true and hear their names called in this year’s draft.

SDS has gone through the SEC’s draft history over the last five years and over the last decade recently.

But which teams have had the most players ever selected in the NFL Draft?

Tennessee is the SEC’s only team to rank in the top 10 in college football. The Vols have had 334 players selected, beating the next closest Florida with 312 draftees, 22 players less. Tennessee’s list will grow at minimum with offensive linemen Ja’Wuan James and Antonio Richardson.

Five SEC schools have had over 300 players drafted, and it’s the usual suspects:

  • I’d like to know how many of Miami’s 315 have come since 1980. I bet they’ve had more than anyone in the last 30 or so years.

  • Damn straight, people. Just because of a downturn, my Vols will be back. bUTch is putting together a winner.

    • I don’t know about that but personally, the orange and white checkerboard is one of if not my favorite endzone decoration in the SEC. So you’ve got that going for you

  • LSU has had 318 take. In the draft not counting this year. 38 in the first round, two at #1. Since Miles has been the coach LSU has led the SEC in both the number of first rounders – 12 and 51 total drafted. Not counting the possible 11 in this years draft. With already 1 more in the first and 3 more in the second. It adds up to why LSU under Miles has won more games than any sec school with 95 while playing the most ranked teams in that span than any school in the country with 56. Referenced from lsusports. Net
