SDS is continually counting down the top 25 players in the SEC for 2013, and we’re not stopping until we get to No. 1. I know you’ll agree with every single one…

No. 23 Ramik Wilson, LB, Georgia (JR)

2013 stats: 133 tackles, 11 TFL, 4 sacks, 7 QB hurries

Why he’s No. 23: Ramik Wilson developed into one of the SEC’s top linebackers in 2013, and he led the conference with 133 total tackles, including an SEC-high 85 tackles in league play.

Maybe Georgia’s defense wasn’t great, but the linebacking corps was very good, led by Wilson. The unit was anchored by OLBs and speed rushers Jordan Jenkins and Leonard Floyd, along with inside linebackers Wilson and Amarlo Herrera, who racked up 112 total tackles himself.

The best news for UGA is that Wilson decided to return for his senior season, and with Wilson, nine other starters are set to return, making Georgia a favorite in the SEC East.

The 6-2, 230-pound Wilson runs really well, but he has a nose for the football. Georgia’s 3-4 scheme allows the linebackers to wreak havoc, and Wilson did just that during his junior campaign.
