We’re only two weeks from National Signing Day right now, and the offseason is about to officially hit us in the face.

As we look ahead to spring ball and next season, let’s look at five burning questions for each SEC West team:

Alabama

  • Who will replace AJ McCarron?
  • How does Alabama’s offensive production under Lane Kiffin get better than last year?
  • Who replaces CJ Mosley as the defensive captain?
  • Who becomes Alabama’s next great cornerback? Is he even on the roster?

Arkansas

  • Will Brandon Allen exit spring as the starter? Will he enter the season as the starter?
  • Who deserves more touches – Alex Collins or Jonathan Williams?

  • How much can we expect the defense to improve?
  • How long will it take Bret Bielema to rebuild Arkansas into a winner?

Auburn

  • Which deficiency improves more this spring – the passing game or passing defense?
  • Who replaces Greg Robinson at left tackle?
  • Will Cameron Artis-Payne or Corey Grant garner more touches next season? Will either get the most touches?
  • Is there another coach in the SEC you want leading your team than Gus Malzahn?
  • Which player fills Dee Ford’s void – Carl Lawson or Elijah Daniel?

LSU

  • Will incoming freshman RB Leonard Fournette be LSU’s most explosive player in 2014?
  • Who will be the toughest to replace – QB Zach Mettenberger, RB Jeremy Hill or WRs Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham?
  • How long before losing so many underclassmen takes a toll on the program?
  • Is LSU one of the handful of programs that can survive mass exoduses?
  • Who will set the tone for LSU’s defense next season?

  • Is LB Serderius Bryant the SEC’s best kept secret?
  • Are you salivating over the thought of CJ Johnson, Robert Nkemdiche, Isaac Gross and Channing Ward, among others, on next year’s defensive line? It should be nasty.

Texas A&M

  • Who will replace Johnny Manziel?
  • Who will emerge as the leading running back after Ben Malena?
  • Will Ricky Seals-Jones replace Mike Evans?

  • How does Alabama’s offensive production under Lane Kiffin get better than last year? Interpretation: will “The Cooler” mark the end of the Saban era of Alabama dominance?

  • I think Auburn with all there Top rated JUCO recruits including …These are all #1 rated players in the nation at there position..Safety,ILB,CB,DT,OT,and Center and with the 2 four star CB’s that flipped from AL to Auburn will have our defense as one of the strongest in the SEC…PASS DEFENSE INCLUDED…and on offense,we our loaded just as we were last year and this is the 1st time ever Malzahn will have a returning starting QB coming back for a second season and with Cameron Artis Payne and the #1 rated RB in the nation in the mix.Auburn, with there brutal schedule, will win the West and Georgia will win the East and we will meet up in Atlanta in next seasons Championship game.COUNT IT CAUSE AUBURN WILL BE ALOT BETTER THIS COMING UP YEAR…I KNOW IT’S A SCARY THOUGHT BUT IT’S THE TRUTH SO SIT BACK AND IT WILL PLAY OUT JUST AS I AM PREDICTING…WAR EAGLE!!!!

  • As a LSU fan I honestly think Zach Mettenberger will be the toughest to replace. Landry and Beckham were great players but LSU always has great skill position players and will replace them. Hill being gone really doesn’t hurt us regardless of what anyone says.. LSU always reloads at running back, just think back to 06′ how could LSU replace Joseph Addai? Justin Vincent. How could they replace Charles Scott and Keiland Williams in 10’? Stevan Ridley. How did they replace Ridley in 11’? Spencer Ware and Michael Ford. Next year it will be Fournette, Magee, and Hilliard making a 3 headed monster

    • And as far the QB spot, I really don’t know if Jennings is the answer.. Sure he looked good against Arkansas and okay in the bowl game, and just “okay”, I think Stephen Rivers could possibly be a better choice. He is very similar to Mettenberger and of course his older brother (Phillip Rivers). Yes he may not be the athlete that Jennings is, but I feel he may be better for the team as a leader and field general. I mean LSU had success with the traditional pocket passer this year, so why fix it if it isn’t broke..

      • Totally agree. It seems like just about everyone forgot about or doesn’t know Rivers is even on the team. Hope he at least gets a chance.

  • “Mass Exoduses” have already taken their toll at LSU. Can you say 9 and 3
