Two Texas A&M players arrested

NCAA Football: Chick-fil-A Bowl-Duke vs Texas A&M

Two Texas A&M football players were arrested over the weekend, according to The Eagle.

Rising sophomore defensive tackle Isaiah Golden was arrested for having less than two ounces of marijuana Saturday night. He was released from jail after posting $2,000 bail. Rising sophomore linebacker Darian Claiborne was also arrested for a ‘noise violation’.

Reports indicate Golden was with Claiborne, early enrollee receiver Speedy Noil and one other man, and they were parked in a handicapped spot at an apartment complex when, according to the police report, an officer approached the car and smelled marijuana. The officer found pot along with a bottle of brandy. Golden ultimately admitted the “hydroponic marijuana” was his.

Early enrollee and five-star receiver Speedy Noil was let go without incident.

Both players were charged with with a misdemeanor.

Golden started six games and played in 11 as a true freshman. Claiborne was also arrested in December on drug charges and was suspended for the Chick-fil-A Bowl.

  • You can be arrested for a noise violation? That sounds almost as dumb as gettin arrested for barking at a police dog

    • Barking at a police dog was a classic though. I’m just praying the players at LSU stay out of trouble this offseason. Lord knows we’ve had enough of this junk over the years. Glad to see Bama folks realizing that it happens to “all” programs.
