Texas A&M were ranked as high as sixth in the country after starting 5-0, but lost three in a row and handed the quarterback responsibilities to Kyle Allen. Allen finished his freshman season throwing for 1,322 yards with 16 touchdowns and seven interceptions and is ready to take over in his first full season as the starting quarterback. McElwain previously served as the head coach at Colorado State from 2012 to 2014 and was named the Mountain West Conference Coach of the Year in 2014. From 2008 to 2011, he was offensive coordinator for Alabama.
