Until the name is signed on the dotted line in February, a prospect’s status is completely open — despite the title of being a “verbal commitment.”

Take 5-star WR Jerry Jeudy for example. The Florida prospect has been committed to Alabama since July. One would assume he’d be rock-solid to Nick Saban’s program.

However, with the realization that National Signing Day is less than two months away, Jeudy is looking into all of his options.

According to 247Sports, Jeudy will be going on an official visit to in-state institution Miami this weekend. Multiple members of the Hurricanes’ staff attending Jeudy’s playoff game last weekend. Head coach Mark Richt and company also have been pursuing the talented pass-catcher since he first pledged to Alabama months ago.

Jeudy is a true game-changer. One of the best athletes in the state of Florida, he can make people miss in space and also stretch the field vertically with his top-end speed. He compares favorably to current Alabama star wide out Calvin Ridley.

Florida also will likely be throwing their proverbial hat into the ring for Jeudy’s services.

As such, the Crimson Tide will likely have to ward off these advances in order to keep the immensely gifted skill player in the fold.
