Alabama LB Tim Williams is one of the best speed rushers in all of college football, often timing the snap count perfectly and getting around the offensive tackle before he can even take his first step.

With a team-leading 8.5 sacks this season (tied with DL Jonathan Allen), Williams explained to AL.com what he’s thinking when he rushes opposing quarterbacks:

“Eat. Destroy. Predator. Conqueror. Anything,” Williams said in his first interview of the 2016 season after the SEC Championship in Atlanta. “I really feel like when I come off that edge, I can’t be stopped. I just have that much confidence in my skill.”

As good as Williams is at using his speed to rush the passer, he said linemen prepare for that move so much that it opens up other avenues for him:

“They try to jump set me because they’re scared of my speed,” Williams said. “That’s why the majority of my sacks this year come from me making inside moves because they jump off so quick because they’re scared of my speed — me and Ryan Anderson and Rashaan (Evans) and (Allen).”

Washington’s offensive line is going to have to keep Williams, Allen and the other talented Alabama pass rushers in check if the Huskies are going to pull off the upset in the Peach Bowl on Dec. 31.

However, Williams isn’t going to make that task easy for his opponents.
