ATLANTA _ The University of Alabama’s only significant injury from Saturday’s game against West Virginia appeared to be to senior wide receiver DeAndrew White, who sustained a separated shoulder.

“I don’t think it’s really bad,” Coach Nick Saban said after the 33-23 victory in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Classic. “He may be out … I haven’t talked to Doc yet, but maybe a week or so. I don’t know.”

White sustained the injury on his last of six receptions for 73 yards, during Alabama’s first possession of the second half. While being surrounded by four defenders he caught a 19-yard pass and took a hard hit along the Crimson Tide sideline.

After heading to the locker room to get checked out White returned to the sideline with his arm in a sling.

The injury ended his bid to notch back-to-back 100-yard games after he had made three catches for 139 yards in the Sugar Bowl to finish last season with 32 receptions for 534 yards.

Two receivers who appeared to take more reps in his absence were Christion Jones and Chris Black.
