TUSCALOOSA, Ala. _ University of Alabama senior offensive lineman Leon Brown is expected to miss the first half of training camp due to a foot injury.

Brown did not participate in Friday’s initial practice, which was for the Crimson Tide’s veteran players.

Sophomore Alphonse Taylor worked in his spot with the first unit, ahead of junior-college transfer Dominick Jackson.

“Even though he’s rehabbing extensively and able to do some things, he probably will be limited to some degree in practice for at least two more weeks,” Coach Nick Saban said.

Brown, who switched from tackle to guard to fill in for Anthony Steen during the Sugar Bowl and make his first start, had spent the spring working with the first unit at right guard.

Steen had made 34 starts and played in 51 games before being sidelined by a shoulder injury.
