Alabama's Tony Brown expected to have suspension reduced
According to Matt Zenitz of al.com, sources told the site that Alabama defensive back Tony Brown is expected to have his suspension reduced from six games to four. Brown, a junior, was a former five-star recruit coming out of high school.
He made the most impact in 2015 on special teams, but played as a reserve defensively as well. Brown was named as one of the Crimson Tide’s special teams players of the week four times a year ago.
Head coach Nick Saban last talked about Brown and his suspension in March according to Zenitz, saying, “He is facing some suspensions. When I get the final data on that, I’ll let you know.”
The defending national champions open up its 2016 season with a game against the USC Trojans on Sept. 3 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The Crimson Tide’s fifth game, the game in which Brown is now expected to be back for, will be against Kentucky on Oct. 1 at home.
