One of Alabama’s upcoming out-of-conference contests has a new date.

Western Kentucky announced on Thursday that the Hilltoppers will now be traveling to Tuscaloosa on Aug. 31, 2024. The game was originally announced as being scheduled for Sept. 9, 2023. The Hilltoppers announced that their 2023 schedules now includes a game against Ohio State in Columbus.

The WKU game will be Alabama’s season opener for 2024, coming ahead of the Crimson Tide’s games against USF (Sept. 7 in Tuscaloosa) and Wisconsin (Sept. 14 in Madison, Wisconsin).

The 2019 season will be Western Kentucky’s first under Tyson Helton, who served as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Tennessee last season under head coach Jeremy Pruitt, a former Alabama assistant.
