University of Alabama junior wide receiver Amari Cooper’s assault on the Crimson Tide record book is essentially already over there’s really not much left for him to accomplish.

He already set all the single-season receiving records with 115 receptions for 1,656 yards and 14 touchdowns, and the career marks with 219 catches for 3,392 yards and 29 TDS.

Consequently, that leaves the Southeastern Conference and Football Bowl Subdivision record books.

While it’s extremely unlikely that Cooper will set any FBS records, he’s already in elite company heading into the national semifinal Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1 (8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN).

The single-season record for receiving yards is 2,060 set by Nevada’s Trevor Insley in 1999. The record for a player a power five conference is Michael Crabtree’s 1,962 with Texas Tech in 1962.

Cooper is 26th on the list. He needs 64 yards to crack the top 20, and 130 for the top 10.

Meanwhile, he’s already in the top 10 for single-season receptions:

8. Jordan Shipley, Texas, 2009, 116
9. Amari Cooper, Alabama, 2014, 115
10. Tavon Austin, West Virginia, 2012, 114

Of note, Cooper has faced eight of the nation’s top 50 pass-efficiency defenses this season, and averaged 10.1 receptions and 140.5 yards against them. In the seven games against teams ranked in the Associated Press poll his average was 10.0 catches for 119.9 yards.

Meanwhile, Cooper had already set one single-season SEC record and has three more within reach:
