National Signing Day is on Feb. 4 and the SEC is primed to bring in another impressive haul of top recruits in the 2015 recruiting class.

In the next 25 days, Saturday Down South counts down the top 25 recruits either committed to the SEC or strongly considering SEC schools.

No. 10 Calvin Ridley

Position: Wide Receiver
247Sports ranking: No. 11 overall; No. 6 overall in Florida
Committed: Alabama

The skinny: Alabama is trying to find the next Amari Cooper, and they may have gotten him in Calvin Ridley. The South Florida prospect is an elite athlete who will excel at wide receiver for the Crimson Tide. He’s the oldest player in the class, already 20 years old, and he was only eligible for three games his senior season because of his age. So, how does that project at Alabama? Ridley was almost two years older than many of the prospects he played against in high school, and he was dominant. During his junior season (2013), Ridley caught 41 passes for 1,231 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Freshman projection: Alabama’s deep at the wide receiver position, and other than Amari Cooper and Julio Jones, freshmen receivers haven’t had much impact. Ridley, however, is the same age as most of the sophomores, and his ability to pick up Lane Kiffin’s offense will determine how fast he’ll make an impact. Sure-fire impact freshmen Chris Black and Robert Foster had little success their first year. The same could be projected for Ridley.
