Georgia Tech assistant Brett Key getting hammered for now-deleted tweet following death of player
On Sunday, Georgia Tech announced that 21-year-old senior DL Brandon Adams had tragically passed away. No details were given about the death, but the Yellow Jacket family was understandably rocked by the tragedy.
As many mourned the passing of the talented young man, though, assistant head coach Brent Key was already moving on to recruiting.
In a since-deleted tweet, the former Alabama assistant seemed to make a connection between Adams’ death and Georgia Tech landing a 4-star recruit on the same day:
Key did issue a response to the tweet, saying he never meant to disrespect Adams and his family:
I’m devastated by the loss of a great man. I never meant to disrespect Brandon, his family, or the legacy he left. RIP Big B

Hopefully, Key will stay off of Twitter for a while after that one.
