This time of year, most football fans are more concerned with the players who are leaving school early than the ones who are earning their degrees.

While the former draws more notice, the latter is also an accomplishment very much worth celebrating. For all of the talk about student-athletes and the importance of receiving an education, those who earn their degrees deserve to be recognized.

More than 80 student-athletes graduated from the University of Alabama this weekend, nine of which were football players for the Crimson Tide. The full list of football graduates is below.

  • Bo Grant, Defensive back
  • Bradley Bozeman, Center
  • Derrick Garnett, Linebacker
  • Hunter Bryant, Tight end
  • Lawrence Erekosima, Running back
  • Preston Jones, Wide receiver
  • Shaun Dion Hamilton, Linebacker
  • Thomas Woods, Wide receiver
  • Tony Brown, Cornerback

Bozeman and Hamilton have not exhausted their eligibility with the football team and are expected to be big contributors next season for the Crimson Tide.
