The only thing sweeter than landing a five-star recruit is stealing one from another program.

That’s something Alabama is attempting to accomplish this weekend as five-star Ohio State commit Paris Johnson Jr. is currently on an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa. The Ohio native has been pledged to the Buckeyes since June but is clearly keeping his options open this spring as the 6-foot-7, 295-pound prospect from Cincinnati has visited Tennessee’s and Georgia’s campuses in recent days.

Johnson is currently rated as the top offensive tackle prospect in the country and the No. 4 overall prospect for the 2020 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings. His commitment to Ohio State came when Urban Meyer was the coach and if Ryan Day struggles in his first season in Columbus, it will be interesting to see if that affects Johnson’s status with the Buckeye program.

Either way, Alabama is currently getting its shot to impress the five-star lineman. The Crimson Tide currently have the nation’s No. 1 ranked recruiting class for the 2020 cycle but have yet to land a commitment from an offensive lineman. Adding Johnson to that group would be a major coup for Nick Saban’s program and push the team’s next recruiting class that much higher in the team recruiting rankings for this cycle.

While on his visit to Alabama, Johnson shared this image with a “Roll Tide” caption:
