The woman accusing former Alabama LB Reuben Foster of domestic violence is recanting her story, according to a report by NBC Sports’ Matt Maiocco.

Foster was charged with three felonies earlier this month after authorities investigated a Februaty incident with his then-girlfriend, Elissa Ennis. Ennis originally said Foster injured her, but now says the injuries are the result of a fight with another woman.

According to Maiocco’s report, Foster sought to end the relationship with Ennis after he learned of the fight. Ennis reportedly threatened to “trash his career” in response, per her attorney, Stephanie Rickard.

At this time, Foster, the No. 31 overall selection in last year’s draft, remains a member of the San Francisco 49ers. The team’s general manager, John Lynch, made headlines this week when he said Foster would be released if the domestic violence allegations were true. Now that his accuser has recanted, it appears likely Foster will remain in San Francisco.

Foster’s next court date is Monday.
