As the Alabama Crimson Tide prepare for a season-opening matchup against Florida State in a couple of weeks, they’re doing so without a pair of their top running backs.

According to AL.com, Bo Scarbrough and Josh Jacobs both missed Friday’s practice, which isn’t a great sign for a team that needs to start the year at full strength.

Jacobs has been out in recent days with a hamstring injury, but the reason for Scarbrough’s absence was not immediately clear.

Scarbrough broke his leg during the national championship game in January, but has been active this summer.

Alabama and Florida State will play in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game at the brand-new Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Saturday, Sept. 2, to start the 2017 season.
