Former Alabama WR Julio Jones’s toe has given him lots of problems this season.

After missing two games in December, the Atlanta Falcons’ star left last weekend’s NFC Divisional Playoff victory over the Seattle Seahawks early and hasn’t practiced much this week in the buildup to Sunday’s NFC Championship Game.

However, according to AL.com, Jones downplayed his injury, saying that everyone has bumps and bruises this late in the season:

“Everybody’s going through pain right now,” Jones said during his Thursday press conference. “My pain is no different than any of the other guys on the team. Unfortunately for me, I’ve been dealing with it for weeks now. The thing is — and it works for me — to be limited throughout practice and be able to go Sunday.”

Jones added that leaving last weekend’s game early was mostly a precautionary measure to keep him healthy after the victory was all but assured over the Seahawks:

“No effect at all,” Jones said when asked how the injury would affect him against the Packers. “The game was pretty much won. I went back just to make sure there wasn’t any new damage or anything to my foot. But I’m fine. I just went back, iced and got ahead of the curve on getting treatment.”

Jones finished last weekend’s contest with six catches for 67 yards and a touchdown.

Sunday’s NFC Championship Game kicks off at 3:05 p.m. Eastern time in Atlanta and can be seen on FOX.
