Tua Tagovailoa has been the talk around college football and even in some NFL circles since he suffered his hip injury Saturday against Mississippi State. But fans had yet to hear from him the last few days.

That changed when Tagovailoa sent out a tweet late Wednesday afternoon. The quarterback issued a message on Twitter, saying he hopes to be at Bryant-Denny Stadium for Alabama’s final home game this Saturday against Western Carolina.

Alabama will then visit rival Auburn in the season finale.

Tagovailoa suffered a gruesome hip injury late in the first half Saturday. Alabama coach Nick Saban admitted afterwards that it was going to be the quarterback’s final drive of the day, but that he wanted the first-team offense to practice the two-minute drill. While rolling out to his left, a couple Mississippi State defenders landed on Tagovailoa, injuring his hip.

The Heisman candidate needed a cart to leave the field and was rushed in a helicopter to a hospital in Birmingham. He underwent successful surgery Monday.
