5-star RB Trey Sanders was an Alabama pledge for a bit, but backed off his commitment on Jan. 1. Nick Saban and his staff are certainly hoping to get the IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) product back into the Crimson Tide’s 2019 class, but it won’t come without a challenge.

Sanders’ brother, Umstead, is now a walk-on at Florida and is recruiting his younger brother to join the Gators.

“The main recruiter over there is pretty much my brother,” Sanders told Luke Stampini of 247Sports. “He calls me every day and stuff like that. He knows what’s up and I always talk to him about it and he’s going to keep me up on what’s going on around there.”

But the highly sought after prospect – rated the No. 8 overall recruit, No. 2 Florida product and No. 1 running back on the 247Sports Composite – knows that there’s something special about playing for UA.

“Bama is just different, that’s the reason I committed, so I just want to go there to get another chance to talk to the coaches again, build that relationship,” Sanders told Stampini.
