Alabama fans showed up to Arlington, Texas in droves for season openers in 2012 against Michigan and 2015 against Wisconsin and outdrew both opponent fan bases. With the Crimson Tide once again opening the season inside the home of the Dallas Cowboys, this time against the USC Trojans, could ‘Bama fans finally meet a fan base equal to their own?

It would appear Trojan Nation is planning an invasion of Texas come September:

Heading into the first season of full-time head coach Clay Helton’s tenure, the Trojans will have an excellent opportunity to rise in the polls be showing up and giving Alabama a game. Even if the Trojans lose a close game, it’s hard to imagine USC falling far in the rankings. A win would likely launch the Pac-12 school into the Top 5.

If nothing else, this game should serve as fascinating theatre thanks to Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin, of course the former USC head coach before landing in Tuscaloosa. Will Kiffin have anything special dialed up for the Trojans? Don’t be surprised if Kiffin’s social media game goes viral after this one.

Alabama leads the all-time series against USC with a 5-2 record. The two schools last faced off in 1985, with the Crimson Tide winning 24-3 in Honolulu.
