This weekend the IMG Nationals 7-on-7 tournament is taking place in Florida and one player that has been impressing several of those in attendance is Alabama quarterback commit Mac Jones.

Jones of course made headlines in early June by flipping his commitment from Kentucky to the Tide. Jones’ decommit then led to a Kentucky assistant coach sending out a subtweet to the quarterback and the Alabama program.

Judging by the summer performance of the talented quarterback prospect, it’s no wonder the assistant was so upset at losing such a promising recruit.

With Jones tearing it up during the IMG Nationals, one comparison has got to have Crimson Tide fans particularly excited about what they could be getting from the 6-foot-2, 180-pound Jones:

This note would also suggest there’s some “McCarron” to Jones’ game:

Here’s Jones in action from the IMG Nationals over the weekend:

With Jones and Hawaiian Tua Tagovailoa — the front-runner to win the Elite 11 Finals next month during The Opening — both quarterbacks committed to Alabama’s 2017 recruiting class, the only question going forward will be centered around which player emerges first to realize his potential and seize the offense in Tuscaloosa?

Not a bad problem for Nick Saban and the Tide to have in the seasons to come.
