Lunney, Jr., a former Arkansas player, is in his second season as tight ends coach in Fayetteville.

He’s asserted himself as a premier recruiter for the Razorbacks, landing several of Arkansas’ impact players during the last two seasons.

After serving as a graduate assistant at Arkansas, he returns to his alma mater under Bret Bielema looking to vault the Hogs back into the national picture.

History with Razorbacks

Lunney, Jr. played for Arkansas from 1992-95, starting 40 games at quarterback. He served as a team captain on the 1995 squad that played in the first SEC Championship Game in school history. He played baseball at Arkansas, also. He was drafted in 1992 out of high school by the Montreal Expos, and again in 1996 by the Minnesota Twins.

He served as a graduate assistant at Arkansas during the 1998-99 season, before having subsequent stops at Tulsa and San Jose State as an offensive assistant coach.

He returned to Arkansas to serve under Bielema after eight seasons at Bentonville High School.
